Hey there everyone. I'm Kenny, and I'm just like the rest of you, looking for some quality one on one roleplays. Probably like some of you, I am looking for modern roleplays only. However, I would say my idea is a lot different than anything any of you have ever heard or thought of. That isn't to say you won't like it though. Anyways, lets get started with the guidelines and such before we jump into my idea.
First things first, the rules, or as I prefer to call them, the guidelines.
1) I would prefer you to be literate and advanced, and preferably toward the higher end of those. Now, I know this is different to everyone, so let me explain myself a little bit. If someone is literate, I expect them to be able to use decent grammar and have pretty good spelling(Of course I don't expect you to be perfect!) You should also be able to put together posts with some length. Advanced to me is a complete step above. You still have good grammar and spelling, but you can also put many different sentence structures together and can make your ideas flow nicely. Included in this flow is a fair amount of detail, creating posts that are relatively long in length.
2) Speaking of post length, I might as well make it another note here in this section. Some people say quality over quantity. I'm not one of those people. I would like both. With quantity, should come quality, and to have a substantial quality, you need quite a bit of quantity. My introductions are generally over a page in Word, and my posts are usually a couple of good paragraphs. Of course, there are times when everything is shorter and longer, depending on what is going on.
3) Gender. Again, not really a rule, but more of a guideline. I am male, which tends to make things easier, since 95% of roleplayers I have run into are females. However, I ask a little more out of a roleplayer, whether they are male or female. Part of being an advanced roleplayer is being able to successfully play both genders. Actually, if you continue reading, you will come to find out that for my roleplaying idea to work, both of us will absolutely need to play both genders.
4) Limits. Plain and simple. I have none, bring on the violence, romance, drama, angst, fighting, sex, etc. And so you know, in my opinion, there is a huge difference between romance and sex. Fight with me about it, and I will probably think you are crazy.
5) Have fun! This is probably the most important part of this. You don't have to do something to please me or anyone else. Do it because you would like to.
6) Talk to me, share your feelings. Honestly, I can't stand it when I put a lot of time into things, and I get a 'Yeah', or 'sure' in return. It absolutely drives me crazy, and it makes me feel like you really don't care, and we are just going through the motions. Just remember, everything you do, especially towards the beginning of when we start talking, gives me an impression of you. Based on this impression, I have decided to not roleplay with a lot of people.
Well, I hope those weren't that difficult. I don't intend to be mean at all, and I don't think any of those are too insane to ask of a roleplaying partner.
Moving on to my contact. This may hurt my chances with a few people in the crowd, but I only roleplay over AIM usually. However, if you have a really large interest and we get along, I may consider doing something somewhere else ,but I would tell you, that the odds are very slim.

Now, for the big idea....haha. Hopefully I can explain this so that you can understand it. Although, if I can't, questions are encouraged and welcome.
You will notice that rather than giving you a list of genres, I am instead giving you one main idea, that can stem off in many different ways. Please remember that the only genre I roleplay is modern, which obviously splits up into many sub-categories.
To give you a little background on this idea, let me take this paragraph to explain. I have been roleplaying for about five years or so, and have enjoyed most of what I have done, as I got better, and in turn found better partners that kept things interesting. However, lately, I have not found many roleplays that will hold my interest for a long period of time. Because of this, the standard roleplay with one or two main characters were person lacked enough action, drama, romance, etc. Even if twists and side characters were thrown in, they only lasted a little while, and things went back to being dead. Now, maybe this was me having a bad run of finidng good roleplays. I'm not really sure. So I took a break from roleplaying.
Coming back to roleplaying, I decided to think of what I could do to get the juices flowing, and try to keep a long term roleplay that would attract the top roleplayers, while not getting the average and below roleplayers attention or interest. What did I decide to do? Take out the main characters.
How would I go about doing this? Well, I decided that starting a roleplay like a normal roleplay would do, because most good roleplays would have quality moments in the beginning before they would die out. So after starting a normal roleplay with one or two characters each, where would we go from there?
Well, minor characters would begin to get introduced. Unlike the normal roleplay, the minor characters will not die out, and they will not play a smaller role than the characters we start with. With constant minor characters getting involved, we would have plenty of characters to keep working with, to create new and unique situations. All of these characters and their interactions would put together a character web, rather than a character chain.
In a character chain, only certain characters could be involved with certain other ones due to situations they were introduced, and based on the fact that you always had to be roleplaying with your "main character". In a character web, every character is somehow connected to every other character, creating endless possibilities of who we could roleplay with.
So even though you start the roleplay with a certain character, that person is not always in the action. Why did I do it this way? Because for a roleplay to be interesting, action and drama have to always be going on. And in the realistic world, people do not always have action going on in their lives. People have boring days; we all do, and you obviously cannot keep up with everything.
The number of characters, the relationships, the action is completely unpredictable when we start the roleplay, and any number of situations could come up and not always involve the same two people. Now....you may ask, how would we keep track of all these characters? Wouldn't it get confusing?
In a sense, yes, it would. That is why I feel the need to introduce the idea of a directory system. In this directory system, there would be a standard list that we could use to describe each player. As a roleplay goes on, both of us(the roleplayers) would contribute to creating the lists, filling them out as more information becomes known in the roleplay; meanwhile, to keep things a mystery, the only information revealed on the lists would be what is known in the roleplay. So for example, if you don't reveal your characters age, it's spot on the list is blank with no answer.
I know all of this is somewhat, well, very long winded and complicated, but the couple of times I have gotten it to work; it has really took off, and we have continued to roleplay for a long time, never having a dull moment. I also know that this is a lot to take in without even talking to me, so I completely understand if you have questions, and if you don't have any or think you understand it all, I will be very surprised.
I have a few ideas for the roleplay itself that I can share later on when we begin talking out the details. I hope I get to hear from you soon, and thank you for reading everything.
If you have any comments, questions, concerns please feel free to post. Also, if you have suggestions for how I could go about explaining my idea better to the crowd, please let me know, and I will try to adapt my advertisement to fit those.
Thanks everyone! Hope to talk to a lot of you soon!!!
